Dr. Michael Pope was born in Stafford and brought up in the Welsh Valleys. He studied Dentistry at Cardiff, graduating in 2014, and then spent his foundation training year in Yorkshire before returning to Cardiff to work in hospital practice.
After moving to the Swindon area Michael held the post of Community Dental Officer for Oxfordshire and then Senior Dental Officer for Swindon. It was in these roles he developed his professional interests in dental sedation, the treatment of patients with dental anxiety, and the management of patients with complex medical histories. He has presented several of his treatment cases at national and international conferences. Michael has further qualifications in inhalation sedation and passed the examinations entitling membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2016.
Michael lives in Swindon with his wife Laura, also a dentist at Burford Road, and their two daughters. His spare time is devoted to his collection of unusual and exotic pets, competing in adventure endurance events and supporting Manchester City.
